George Robert “Bob” Marshall age 82 of Forest City died Friday, December 22, 2023, at his home.

A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, North Carolina, he was born June 23, 1941, the son of the late George Albert Marshall and Evelyn Hardin Marshall. Bob was a 1959 graduate of Cool Springs High School and served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. He retired from PPG Industries in Shelby after 40 years of service.

Bob was a longtime member of the Florence Baptist Church having served as a Deacon, served on various committees, and enjoyed going on mission trips to New York, Montana and especially Alaska.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Priscilla Haulk Marshall; their three sons, Gregg Marshall, Kevin Marshall (Karen) and Rodney Marshall (Sharon), all of Forest City; his grandchildren, Zach Marshall of Forest City, Ashton Dedmon (Brandon) of Boiling Springs, SC, Ellie Marshall, Taylor Marshall, both of Forest City, Logan Marshall (Nicole) of Spindale, Emily Marshall of Charlotte, Carson Marshall of Mooresville and Makaili Wood (Caleb), his great-grandchildren, Maxxton Marshall, Auden Boyce, Kylan Boyce and Denver Dedmon; his brother, Keith Marshall (Nancy) and his sister, Dianne Flynn of Forest City,

A Service from the Graveside will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Eternal Hill Memorial Park with the Reverend Daniel Selman officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.

The family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to the Florence Baptist Church, 201 South Broadway Street, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
