Billy G. Huntley, age 90 of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.  Billy was born on December 21, 1934, in Lawrence County, Tennessee and was a son of the late Claude and Lillie Artman Huntley.  His career was in auto parts sales, working first for L. C. Cook Chevrolet in Forest City and later for Melton’s Nissan in Rutherfordton where he retired. 

Billy was a faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where for many years taught in the intermediate Boys Sunday School Class, was a member of the Choir, served as Superintendent of Sunday School, was Church Treasurer and he served on various committees in the church.   He was also a United States Army Veteran. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Huntley, his sister, Delois Huntley and his great-grandson, Britt Huntley Hopper.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Judy Splawn Huntley of the home, his son, Christopher Duane Huntley of Rutherfordton, and his daughter, Jan Huntley Fraser and husband Dave of Ellenboro. There are also four grandchildren, Carla Hooper, Christopher Duane Huntley, Jr., Emily Hopper, and Stephen Hargett as well as six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 4 o’clock on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 o’clock prior to the service in the Sanctuary.
