Betty Jo Millwood Smith

Betty Jo Smith, age 90 of Forest City died Monday, November 7, 2022, at Advent Health Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs, Florida.  Betty was born October 20, 1932, in Harris, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Eddie Ray Millwood.  She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.  Betty loved to work and meet people before she retired December 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marshal Hugh Smith in 2017 and her son Rodney Smith in 2007, her sisters Bobbie Millwood, Shirley Campbell and her brother Bill Millwood.

Survivors include her daughter Teresa Smith Newton and husband Dennis of Apopka, FL, a brother Donnie Millwood of Forest City, three grandchildren, Robbie Smith and wife Chery, Jason Newton and wife Stacy, and Jeremy Newton and fiancée Celene as well as three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah Grace and Ethan Smith.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at The Padgett and King Chapel with The Reverend Kevin Rhom officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
