Betty Huntley Ruppe Obituary

Betty Huntley Parris Ruppe, 91, of Forest City, NC, passed away on March 10, 2025.  Betty loved reading, watching sports (especially Tiger Woods!), traveling, flowers and collecting teapots.  Most of all she loved her family.

Betty is survived by her sister, Muriel Hash, son, Ray Parris, two grandchildren, five great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by six sisters and one brother, her daughter, Candace Parris, and husband Robert Ruppe.

Betty grew up in Forest City.  After high school, she moved to Charlotte, where she met and married, Raymond Parris.  They had their two children and then eventually moved to Fairfax City, VA.  In 1977, she returned home to Forest City.  She worked as an office assistant at McCurry Deck and Aeroquip, from where she retired.

Betty lived a full life, and we are filled with peace knowing that she is now with so many whom she loved dearly, in Heaven.

A service from the graveside will be held at 11 o’clock on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.

The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements and an online guest registry is available at www.padgettking.com
