Betty Oliver Obituary

Betty Jenkins Oliver, age 89 of Spindale died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her home. Born August 1, 1931 in Robbinsville, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Mae Bower Jenkins and Edd Jenkins. She worked with Skyland Textiles as an Inspector for several years and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fortune Oliver in 1991, a grandson, Tyler Oliver, as well as one sister and seven brothers. Her greatest enjoyment in life was helping raise her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Robin Oliver of Spindale; two sons, Steve Oliver of Palm Coast, Florida and Randy Oliver and wife, Jo of Rutherfordton. Five grandchildren, Amanda Fowler, Melissa Unkelbach, Whitney Bailey, Blakeney Oliver and Reece Oliver; four great-grandchildren, Melayna Unkelbach, Max Bailey, Sawyer Bailey and Myer Bailey.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
