Betty Jean McDaniel Head, age 78 of Rutherfordton, died Monday, January 13, 2025.  Betty was born on September 30, 1946, in Haywood County, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Thomas McDaniel and Helen Virginia Hoyle Womack. 

She was the owner and operator of Head’s Bike and Key Shop in Forest City for many years and was a Baptist.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Daniel Head and her daughter, Evette Danielle Head.

Survivors include her son, Timothy  Head of Asheville, her daughters, Michelle Orndorff of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, Sherry Shade of Rancho Cordova, California, and Rebecca Ruppe of Rutherfordton.  There are also eight grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Mr. Greg Millwood officiating.  Interment is private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
