Beth Spicuzza Obituary

Elizabeth Taylor Spicuzza, age 66 of Rutherfordton died Monday, July 27, 2026, at her home. Beth, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on June 3, 1960, in Ft. Myers, Florida and was a daughter of the late Carl and Willene Hester Taylor.

She was a graduate of North Ft. Myers High School, and she had worked as a kindergarten teacher’s assistant in the Lee County Florida public schools. Beth lived most of her life in Cape Coral, Florida until moving to Rutherford County in 2018 where she and her husband made many new friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and she maintained her sense of humor even through her illness.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Spicuzza of the home, her sons, Michael Spicuzza of Laurens, South Carolina and Ryan Spicuzza of Cape Coral, Florida, and a granddaughter, Aariyiah Spicuzza.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 o’clock on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in The Padgett and King Chapel, located at 227 East Main Street, Forest City, North Carolina.  Following the service everyone is invited to a lunch and reception at Mi Pueblito Mexican Restaurant, 139 S. Washington Steet, Rutherfordton where her life will continue to be celebrated.

A second celebration of life will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the B Hive Event Center, located at 17650 South Tamiami Trail, Unit 202, Fort Myers, FL.  A catered lunch from Mission BBQ to follow allowing a continued celebration of her life.

Requested attire for both events is jeans, shorts, t-shirts, casual, ect. Per Beth’s request.
