Barbara Hardin Roberts, 71, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City.  Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late G. W. Hardin and Mary Frances Walker Hardin.  Barbara worked as credit manager for Cleveland Capital Holdings for many years and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.  She was a member of the local Civitan chapter for over twenty years, serving as Civitan Lt. Governor on two occasions.  Barbara had also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Survivors include her companion, Reid Melton of Forest City; her son, Bruce Roberts (Tricia) of Stony Point, NC; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Davis (Riley), Zachary Roberts (Jillian), Nicolas Roberts, Jessica Roberts and Amanda Melton; and a step-son, Charlie Melton (Laura).  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Hardin.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm Monday, January 16, 2023 at Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. Mike Conner officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
