Obituary
Allen Blaine Upton, age 71, of Forest City, passed away on September 17th, peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
Blaine was born October 23rd, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late William L. Upton Jr. and Virgie T. Upton. He grew up in the Henrietta, NC area. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1969, and a graduate of Isothermal Community College. He married Myra Brooks on April 29th, 1989. Throughout his life, Blaine worked a variety of different jobs; he believed in working hard, but also making sure to take the time to celebrate life. He was a long-time member of Kistler’s Chapel United Methodist Church, serving in several capacities including Sunday school teacher & singing in the choir. He was an avid Duke fan & you could always find him cheering on his Blue Devils. He was a devoted & kind husband, father, & friend. He made a friend out of anyone he met & showed everyone love .Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Boyce Upton.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Myra, of the home; two daughters, Amelia Upton of Forest City, NC, and Maggie Upton of Ellenboro, NC; a sister, Brenda Upton of Henrietta.
Services will be held by the family at a later date.
