Alan John Hollifield

Alan John Hollifield, 60, of Ellenboro, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Mission Hospital-McDowell, Marion.  A native of Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late John Clifford Hollifield and Juanita Branch Hollifield.  Alan worked as a maintenance mechanic for Nestle, Inc. and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  He was a devoted husband and father.  He dedicated his life to his family.  From taking third shift jobs to make sure a parent was always home, to being a devoted caretaker for his wife, Elaine.  He always put his family first.  He fulfilled his vows of sickness and health many times over as he helped Elaine battle her health problems.  He truly loved his family and cherished his grandchildren.  One of his favorite activities was grilling out. 

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Thompson Hollifield of the home; son, Josh Hollifield, his wife Yoshimi and their daughter, Saia; a daughter, Natalie Austin, her husband Jason and their children, Riley Elliott, Keira Elliott, Jacklyn Austin and Tayla Austin; and a brother, Keith Hollifield.  There are also a number of nieces and nephews.
