Wayne Bailey

Charles Wayne Bailey age 67 of Ellenboro died Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born April 22, 1952 in Cleveland County, North Carolina he was the son of the late Charles Alfred Bailey and Margaret Mozelle Melton Bailey. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and attended Isothermal Community College and had worked as the Food Service Manager for the North Carolina Department of Corrections-Spindale Unit. Wayne was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, loved to farm and enjoyed reading. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Byars Bailey; a son, Steven Wayne Bailey and wife Catie of Raleigh, North Carolina; a daughter, Stephanie Bailey Cole and husband, Joey of Ellenboro; a sister, Carole Bailey McDaniel and husband, Norman of Ellenboro; three grandchildren, Ayden Cole, Jackson Cole and Julie Mae Bailey; a niece, Misti McDaniel of Chile and nephew, Mason McDaniel of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, November 13, 2019 at 11 o'clock at the Victory Baptist Church with the Reverend Johnny McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Honors rendered by the North Carolina Department of Corrections.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock  at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
