Ted Rudisell Frye

Ted Rudisell Frye, age 85, of Rutherfordton, died, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Hospice House in Forest City. A native of Gaston County he was a son of the late Marvin Frye and Ethel Bumgardner Frye; a fireman with the Charlotte Fire Department retiring after 32 years of service, a veteran, having served in the US Army during the Korean War, and attended the Adaville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darius Frye and a sister, Jean King.

Survivors include his wife Selma J. Kilpatrick, two sons, Barton Frye of Concord, NC, Eric Frye and his wife Lisa of Southport, NC, a daughter, Susan Smith of Rutherfordton, grandchildren, Kendall, Hunter, Stephanie, Kelsey, and Bryson. There are 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at three o'clock in the afternoon, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Adaville Baptist Church with the Reverend Jonathan Cobb and Reverend Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 3 prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
