Suzan Iwerks Obituary

Suzan Jean Horn Iwerks, age 74 of South Magnolia Street, Forest City died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at her residence.  She was born a Forest City native on October 28, 1944 and was a daughter of the late William Lester Horn and Marjorie Smith Horn Baynard.  Suzan was a Psychological Therapist and worked in Behavioral Health at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville where she retired.  She spent most of her adult life as a resident of Fayetteville living in the Haymont Section and was member of Hay Street United Methodist Church. 

Suzan received her Bachelor's degree from Methodist College in Social Work and later earned her Master's degree from East Carolina University in Greenville.  After retirement Suzan returned to Forest City where she attended the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Elizabeth Iwerks of Forest City, a son, William Robert "Robbie" Iwerks and wife Kelly of Forest City, sister, Kathy Horn of Rutherfordton, two grandchildren, Liam and Liza Iwerks.  And her beloved dog, Toby which was her constant companion.

The funeral service will be held at two o'clock Friday, November 30, 2018 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Faye Herbin and Kristin Holstrom officiating.  Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o'clock prior to the service.  Interment will be private for the family.
