Susan Foster Obituary

Susan Grose Foster, 72, of Smith Grove Road, Forest City, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills Inpatient Unit. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Summie Grose and Virl Jones Grose. Susan retired from a career as a special education teacher, was member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Forest City and enjoyed numerous handcrafts for many years.

Survivor include her husband, Howard A. Foster, Sr. of the home; a son, Howard A. Foster, Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Allenna F. Davey (Kenneth) of Forest City, NC; a brother, Andrew Grose (Helen) of Clayton, NC and grandchildren, Henry and Eliza Foster, and Christopher, Sean and Jessica Davey.

A memorial service will be held by the family at 11 am Monday, May 28, 2018 in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am Monday at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 2676 Hudlow Rd, Forest City, NC 28043 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
