LEXINGTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Sue Putnam Jones, age 82, formerly of Forest City died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at NHC Healthcare Lexington in West Columbia, SC. Sue was born in Cleveland County on September 14, 1936 to her parents, the late Wayne Putnam and Lala Wright Putnam. She was a retired cafeteria worker for Rutherford County Schools. Sue was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church in Bostic and was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hicks Jones as well as five of her brothers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Trena Roper and her husband, Donald of Lexington, SC, Donna McGinnis and husband David of Forest City, NC, her sister, Betty Lee Jones of Kings Mountain, NC, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Glenwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Jason Toney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday night at the Padgett & King Mortuary.
