Sue Bradley Hardin, 91, formerly of Washburn Community, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Fair Haven Home of Bostic, where she was a resident. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Bradley and Lillie Lytle Bradley and widow of the late Hoyle Hardin. Sue and Hoyle were the co-owners of Hardin-Bradley Motor Company with her parents and brother, Grover Bradley. She was later co-owner of H-Hamrick & Haynes Auto Sales for many years with her business partners, Jim Hamrick and son-in-law, Ray Haynes.
Mrs. Hardin was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest City, she was one of the founders of Washburn 4-H Club and Washburn Community Club, and was also bookkeeper and served on the Board of Trustees for South Mountain Christian Camp. Sue began a home Bible study many years ago that is still on going today. She loved to travel to see family and was also able to take a trip to Israel in her travels. In addition, she loved entertaining friends and family and decorating.
Survivors include her children, Janice H. Haynes of Bostic, Phil Hardin of Duncan’s Creek Community, Marsha Singlevich of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Freddy Hardin of Annapolis, Maryland; eleven grandchildren and was loved and adored by many great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Grover Bradley and sister, Dot Bradley Thorp Little.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Padgett & King Chapel with Capt. O. A. Fish and Rev. Barrett Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 until 3:30 pm at the mortuary.
