Steve Carroll Obituary

 

Joseph Stephen "Steve" Carroll, age 78, of Bethany Church Road, Forest City, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Hospice House in Forest City. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Alton Parker Carroll and Grace Lewis Carroll. Steve enjoyed gardening, hunting, nature and fishing, trips with his buddies. He also loved family get togethers and photography. He was a dedicated member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and sound manager. He loved his church family. He was a supervisor at General Fire Proofing, Mastercraft, OMC, and Stonecutter Mills, and worked at Melton's Store. He loved his job at Ingles where he made even more friends. Steve was preceded in death by a twin sister, Nancy Tucker, and a brother, A.P. Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mozelle Upton Carroll, a son Tony Carroll, two daughters, Carla Carroll Hartford and husband Leonard, and Kelly Butler, grandchildren, Jarrad Carroll, Jacob Carroll, Allye Butler, Leslie Lesher and husband Ammon, Landyn Hartford, Lucy Farren Hopper, and great grandchildren, Parker, Griffin, Lily, Eden.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Bethany Baptist Church with the Reverend Chris Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Friday at The Padgett & King Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund, 760 Bethany Church Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
