Sarah Earley Obituary

Sarah Rhymer Earley, age 89, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Fairhaven of Forest City.  Born February 1, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Abram Rhymer and Blanche Gamble Rhymer and the widow of the late Jeff Bostic Earley, Sr.  Sarah was a 1948 graduate of Harris High School and  graduated from Appalachian State University with a Business degree.  She worked for Spindale Mills for over thirty years and later worked with her sister at Davis Sisters.  She and Jeff  married in 1954 and had been married 54 years upon his death in 2008.  Sarah was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Forest City and the Love Circle Sunday School class.  She enjoyed shopping and cooking, loved to garden and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  In later years, she was very active with the Rutherford County Senior Center.

Survivors include her son, Jeff Bostic Earley, Jr. of Forest City and her elder sister, Louise Rhymer Lovette of Columbia.  There are also three granddaughters, Kathryn Holland (Bryan), Melanie Byers (T J) and Suzanne Cooper (Adam), and six great grandchildren, Addisyn Byers, Easton Holland, Rylee Byers, Grady Byers, Bostic Holland, and Jackson Holland.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Rhymer Earley and three siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Floyd's Creek Baptist Church, Forest City, with Rev. Robert Carnell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from ten until eleven o'clock at the church.
