Nancy Moore Medford, age 90, a former resident of the Oak Grove Community, Ellenboro, North Carolina died Friday, January 10, 2020 in Lewes, Delaware where she was a resident.
Born May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William Oscar Moore, Sr. and Ella Catherine Wylie Moore of Sinks Grove, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn T. Medford, sister, Elizabeth Peters, and three brothers, Robert T. Moore, William Oscar Moore and James Moore.
A graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, Charleston, West Virginia, she spent 30 years in the mental health field in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and Nancy enjoyed her volunteer work with Hospice of Rutherford County.
Survivors include her brother, John Clinton Moore of Sinks Grove, West Virginia, many nieces and nephews, her Godchild, Debbie Navecky and husband Frank of Delaware that she lived with in recent months, longtime friends, Wanda and Drexel Quesenberry, Jo and Wes Liverette, sister-in-law, Shirley Medford, as well as her church family at Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she had many close and faithful friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Dickens and Reverend David Hawkins officiating. Following the service her ashes will be interred privately in the church cemetery.
