Michael Scott Denning

Michael Scott Denning, 63, of US Highway 64, Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City, NC.  Born in Cherokee County, NC, he is the son of Faye Barbour Denning and  the late Garland Eugene Denning.  Scott was a retired teacher, master gardener, and member of the Rutherfordton Lions Club.  He was also a member of Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Andrea Muschinske Denning of the home; a brother, Stephen Denning and wife Judy Johnson of Canton, OH; and nephews, Christopher Denning of NY, NY and Kurt Denning of Canton, OH.

A memorial service will be held  2 pm Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Don Schofield officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1133, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
