Mary Moore Obituary

Mary Hazel Moore, age 85 of Gardenia Loop, Rutherfordton died Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Hospice House in Forest City.  Mary was born November 30, 1933 in Caroleen, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Kermith and Eula Shipman Buckner.  She worked for many years for Burlington Industries at the Caroleen Plant and later for Rutherford Hospital in the Laundry Department where she retired. 

Mary attended Harriett Memorial Baptist Church in Caroleen and was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.  She very much enjoyed her family and especially loved sitting on her front porch with her sister and she treasured the visits from her sister from Florida. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Moore, a daughter, Tammy P. Moore, and brothers, Earl and Ray Buckner.

Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Grason and husband Robert of Forest City, Hope Taylor and husband Gary of Rutherfordton, sisters, Blanche Melton of Rutherfordton, Faye Dancey of Florida,  her grandchildren, Robby Shires and wife Marissa, Lora Tesseneer and husband Michael, and Christina Harris and husband Donald as well as five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 2 o'clock Saturday, April 6, 2019 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Billy Poe Jones officiating.  Interment will follow at High Shoal Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o'clock Saturday at the mortuary prior to the service.
