Martha Alberta (Zook) Fisher

Mrs. Martha Alberta Zook Fisher, 84, of Elliott Road, Rutherfordton, died August 8, 2018 at her home.  Born in Princess Anne County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Paul Zook and Bertha Tice Zook and the widow of the late John Fisher.  Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker and she enjoyed growing strawberries and blueberries, gardening and quilting.  She also taught school for many years.

Survivors include her children, David and Janice Fisher, Linda and Malon Fisher, Ernest and Rachel Fisher, Mark and Lois Fisher, Alma and Isaac Brubacher, Rhoda and Oscar Brubacher, Lois Fisher, Orpha and Elio Martinez and Peter and Helena Fisher; a brother, Paul Zook (Doris); Mildred, Catherine, Rachel  and Miriam Zook, Margaret (Andy) Hooks; fifty three grandchildren, one hundred twenty six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  There also eleven nieces and nephews and twenty one great nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her brother James and sisters, Mary Miller, Grace, Ruth and Virginia and a nephew, Andrew Hooks.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Pine Ridge Mennonite Church, Rutherfordton.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:45 to 6:30 and also from 7 to 8:30 at the church.
