Margaret Ann Hines, age 88 of Forest City died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills. She was born September 2, 1930 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Zonie and Florence Pintuff Estep. Margaret worked for most of her life in textiles and was a faithful member of Henrietta First Baptist Church where she served as Librarian for many years.
Margaret had a kind and gentle spirit and she enjoyed helping others through her church activities or in the community. She loved her family and was a devoted friend to many.
Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Michael Estep, and brothers, James, Dan, and Perry Estep.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin Hines of the home, a son, Philip Walker and wife Janet Diane Walker of Bostic, three step-children, Terry Hines and wife Kathy, Cindy Houser, and Kenny Hines and wife Sherri all of Cliffside, a sister, Betty Ray of Forest City, daughter -in-law, Judy Estep of Harris, as well as numerous grandchildren , including Stephanie Phillips who helped care for her grandmother and a number of great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Henrietta with Reverend Jamie Johnson and Reverend John Godfrey officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Entombment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary .
