Margaret O'Dell Evans

Margaret O. "Moe" Evans, age 94 of Rutherfordton, North Carolina died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills.  Margaret was born July 31, 1923 in Bruce, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Christina O'Dell and worked as a printer for Braceland Brothers Printing for many years.   

She attended the First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton where she was active in various church activities.  She also volunteered for Hospice , Habitat for Humanity, was a Pink Lady volunteer for Rutherford Hospital and a member of the Griffith Rutherford Chapter of the DAR.  Margaret was a member and  Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Summersville, West Virginia. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Evans, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Marshall L. Evans and wife Linda of Rutherfordton, three sisters, Rosalie Ashley of Louisville, KY, Ruth Ann O'Dell of Summersville, West Virginia, and Dollie Townsend of Charleston, West Virginia.  There are also three grandchildren, Tracy Robinson of Palm Harbor, FL, Brian Robinson and wife Angel of Denver, CO, and Angela Robinson of Tarpon Springs, FL as well as four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will hold funeral services  in West Virginia with burial beside her late husband in the Walker Memorial Park in Summersville, West Virginia. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton with Reverend Tim Marsh and Reverend Dean Baughn officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
