Lucy Carroll Obituary

Lucy Davis Carroll, age 86 of Forest City died Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Fairhaven of Forest City.  Lucy was born in Rutherford County on November 29, 1932 to her parents, the late Grover C. Davis and Elma Owens Davis.  She was a member of Walls Baptist Church .

Lucy was a self-employed seamstress and worked many years for Tanner Company.  Her talent for sewing was well known and she had a sewing shop in her home where she would make garments for the public. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Downey,  her second husband, Bill Carroll and sister, Mary Ayers.

Left to cherish her memory are her cousin, Beverly Philbeck, close friends and caregivers, Rob Jolley, Christine Evans, Mary Wilkerson, Josephine Starling, Joan Conner, Pat Edwards, and countless others who loved her dearly.  She loved each of them and will be genuinely missed.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating.  Interment will be private in the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 until 6:30 Thursday at Padgett and King.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
