Linda Pruett Obituary

Linda Roach Pruett, age 75 of Forest City died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her residence.  Linda was born January 25, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Carl and Gwendolyn Murph Roach.  She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, a 1962 graduate of Cool Springs High School  and retired from Food Lion where she was deli manager for many years.

Among her many passions were her love of animals and was a volunteer with the Community Pet Center for many years.  Linda was also a dedicated Girl Scout Leader for more than 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Pruett, Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Pruett DuBois and husband Seth of Durham, step-children, Bobby Pruett, Jr. and Melissa Haubrich,  a brother, Fred Roach and wife Betty of Waxhaw, NC, sisters, Wanda Page and husband Randy of Forest City and Cindy Tealey and husband Pat of Meridian, Idaho.  There are also eight grandchildren as well as a number of great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Ellenboro.   The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2:30 Sunday afternoon at The Padgett and King Mortuary.

The family request memorial  donations in her name be made to Community Pet Center, 861 Piney Ridge Road, Forest City, NC 28043 or Girl Scouts of America, (GSCP2P), Attn: Fund Development, 8818 W. Market Street, Colfax, NC 27235.
