Kim Whisnant Obituary

 

Charles Kimball “Kim” Whisnant, age 61, of the Six Points community, died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main, Charlotte, NC.  A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charles Warren “Buck” Whisnant and Wynelle Greene Whisnant.  Kim was a graduate of Appalachian State University and a member of Florence Baptist Church, Forest City where he faithfully served with the Florence Church praise and youth bands.  He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and golfer, loved the beach and swimming in the ocean at sunset and was the owner of Six Points Plumbing.

Survivors include his wife Teri Carlton Whisnant of the home; daughters, Lauren Whisnant, Rebecca Whisnant, Gayla Silvers, and Chelsea Rush; a son, Marty Silvers; sisters, Pam Whisnant Harrill and husband Tony, Tracy Whisnant Davis and husband Steve, and Dianne Whisnant Lurie and husband David; and grandchildren, Jaiden Silvers, Devin Silvers, Azlyn Silvers, Makalyn Silvers and Memphis Silvers and nephews, Tyler Harrill, Adam and Jay Lurie and Paul Davis.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 pm Sunday in the narthex of the sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Baptist Church Building Fund or Youth Program, 201 S. Broadway Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
