Kaye Callahan Harris a loving wife and mother passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Hospice House in Forest City. She was a resident of Forest City, North Carolina and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She was born September 22, 1937 in Spindale, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late John Lee and Mary Lillie Dalton Callahan. Kaye attended R-S Central High School and graduated from Cool Springs High School. She was a Real Estate Broker. Kaye owned and managed their automobile business R H Motors where he restored and sold Mercedes Benz automobiles. She worked with her late husband, Robert (Bob) Harris at Insurance Marketing Service (IMS). Following Bob's death, Kaye continued to own and operate IMS Company until retiring and moving to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Kaye enjoyed her time as a member of the Pilot Club of Rutherford County. She loved the lake and the beach. She enjoyed dancing and shagging. Kaye enjoyed cruises and traveling outside the US. Her greatest love was spending time with her granddaughter, family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Forest City and then converted to Catholicism. She was a devoted Catholic at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Harris, sisters, Brenda Beal and Mary Helen McDaniel.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Harris and spouse Timbs Fulghum of Concord, NC, her granddaughter, Reven Harris Fulghum also of Concord, NC, her brother, Bobby Callahan and spouse Gabby of Lake Lure, NC, and her godson, Brent Beason of Charlotte, NC. There are also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Friday, May 17, 2019 at six o'clock in the evening in the Chapel at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Forest City, North Carolina celebrated by Father Herbert Burke and Deacon Andy Cilone. Interment of her ashes will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park beside her husband in a private ceremony.
There will also be a Memorial Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina by Father Ray on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at one o'clock in the afternoon.
