Jimmy Bowen Obituary

 

Jimmy Junior Bowen, age 61 of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Hospice House in Forest City.  Jimmy was born on December 12, 1957 in Rutherford County, was a son of the late Glen and Rosie Baynard Bowen and a lifelong Baptist.

Jimmy was a loving and devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, and uncle.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hoyle Bowen.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Smith Bowen, his daughter Nicole Bowen and grandson, Jerry Jenkins; sisters, Barbara Smith and husband Paul, Lori Sullivan and husband Randy of Rutherfordton, brothers, Bobby Bowen and wife Tammy, Ronnie Bowen, Roy Bowen, and Jerry Bowen and wife Shelby all of Rutherfordton.  There are also a number of nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Don Morrison and Reverend Dennis Yelton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the mortuary.


Memorials are suggested to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.   The family will be at 141 Glen Drive, Rutherfordton.
