Jennie Marlowe Obituary

Jennie Smith Marlowe, age 66 of Pearidge Road, Bostic died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her residence.  Jennie was born in Rutherford County on February 5, 1953 and was a daughter of the late John and Alice Hooper Smith.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, painting, ceramics, pottery.and was also a gifted seamstress and took pride in keeping a spotless home.  Jennie was a member of Florence Baptist Church in Forest City. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Byers and Janice Skidmore.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Johnny Marlowe, her daughters, Rene Marlowe Ellis and husband Todd of Forest City, Rhonda Marlowe Hollifield and husband Jason of Bostic, her brothers, Johnny Smith of Forest City and Jackie Smith and wife Dorothy of Bostic.  There are also four grandchildren, Megan Bumgarner, Brent Moore, Adam Hollifield, and Ben Hollifield, great-grandson, Griffin Bumgarner and her step-grandchildren, Kali and Bryson Ellis as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday in the Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt and Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating.  Interment will follow in the Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 Thursday in the Church Narthex prior to the service.
