Janelle Greene Obituary

Janelle Lunette Greene, age 95, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Rutherford County, died Tuesday, September 12, 2019 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Fred Reuben Greene and Gladys Hamrick Greene and widow of the late John Bunyan Greene. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Wilmington and a 1941 graduate of Ellenboro High School. She enjoyed cooking and providing for her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Jon Roby Greene of Wilmington, NC; a brother Jerry Greene of Forest City, NC; sisters, Peggy Toney and Polly Keyes, both of Forest City, NC, and Mary Digiorgio of Hampton, VA. There are also a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Tar Greene.

A graveside service will be held 3 pm Friday, September 13, 2019 in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellenboro, NC.
