James Arnold "Jim" Robbins, of Forest City, NC died August 20, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Kit Miller Robbins. Jim opened Robbins Oil Company in 1957 where he was a distributor for Exxon, Sinclair, Mobile, Chevron, and Sonoco. He also owned Robbins Investments, New Way Transportation and JJM Properties. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Forest City and served in the United States Navy. Jim loved to walk, enjoyed the beach and enjoyed life. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Collins Robbins and son, Bradford Robbins.
Survivors include his wife, June Miller Robbins, his son, Richard Robbins, and granddaughters, Sarah and Laura Robbins.
The funeral service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Garin HIll officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from five until seven o'clock Friday evening at The Padgett & King Mortuary.
