James Harold Hollandsworth

James Harold Hollandsworth, 78, of Vanity Lane, Ellenboro, died May 10, 2019 at his home.  Born in Trenton, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Hollandsworth and Vertna Waddle Hollandsworth.  James served his entire career with the Chicago Police Department retiring after thirty three years service as Commander of the Citywide Youth Division.  He earned a Bachelors degree in Public Administration and was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church, Forest City.  He was always deeply involved in church and had served as a Deacon in every church he was a part of through the years.  James loved and cared for his family very much.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Margaret Toole Hollandsworth of the home; sons, James Hollandsworth (Leslie) of Ellenboro, and Timothy Hollandsworth of Anderson, Indiana; a daughter, Julie H. Campbell (Russ) of Anderson, Indiana; a brother Leonard Hollandsworth of Chicago, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Tri-City Baptist Church with Rev. James Hollandsworth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri-City Baptist Church, 910 Piney Ridge Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
