Lawson Jack Green, age 89 of Ellenboro died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. He was born November 10, 1929 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Troy Festus Green and Prudence Whisnant Green.
Jack was a lifelong Baptist and a used car dealer and operator of Jack Green Wrecker Service in Ellenboro. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. His sisters, Betty Knopf and Ruth Carver as well as brothers, Ray Green, Flay Green, Charles Green and Tom Green preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Willene G. Green, a son, Andy Green of Ellenboro, a daughter, Gwen Griffin and husband Ronnie of Ellenboro, and two grandchildren, India and Preston Green.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday, December 8, 2018 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Ad Hopper and Reverend Mathew Stamey officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Padgett and King.
