Gloria Sorrells Wells

Gloria Ann Sorrells Wells, 75, of Rollins Road, Forest City, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her residence.  A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Roswell King Sorrells and Myrtle Dean Sorrells.  Gloria was a homemaker and a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Forest City.  She loved to sing, loved the Lord and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She was also known for being an excellent cook and received great joy from keeping children where she received her nickname "GoGo".  Gloria gave her hand and heart in everything she did and left everyone with a kind word.

Survivors include her husband William R. “Billy” Wells, of the home, daughters, Lisa Wells Bradley (Jerry) of Forest City, NC, Jill Wells Overton (Roger) of Gastonia, NC and Lori Wells Thompson (Jody) of Rutherfordton, NC; brothers, William “Bud” Sorrells (Peggy) of Dallas, NC and Raymond Sorrells (Shirley) of Forest City, NC; a sister, Marjorie Sorrells Clayton of Forest City, NC; grandchildren, Tracie Moore (Randy), Laura Thompson (Mike), Rachael Bradley, Aaron Overton (Courtney), Nathan Overton, Hannah Overton, Paige Johnson (Josh) and Haley Reel (Ryan); and great grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah and Joshua Moore, and Lukas and Abbie Thompson.  There are also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Overton, Rev. Bob Philbeck, Rev. Matt Mills, and Rev. Owen Duncan officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11 am Friday in the church sanctuary.  Memorials may be made to Mt.
