Frances Hamrick Toney, age 82, of Landrum, South Carolina, died, Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Magnolia Manor of Inman. A native of Rutherford County and former longtime resident of Bostic, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Hamrick and Wilma Bridges Hamrick. Frances worked for many years at the lunch counter at Smith's Drug Store where she is widely remembered. In her retirement she worked with Mayo Auto Auction.
She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and was a graduate of Cool Springs High School. Her husband Wade Toney, a son, Danny Toney, a daughter, Terry Johnson , and her great-granddaughter, Lily Couch and brother, Tommy Hamrick, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Randy Toney of Forest City, a daughter, Karen T. Hyder and her husband Phillip of Landrum, SC, and a brother, Deven W. "Pete" Hamrick of Spartanburg, SC, her grandchildren, Sheri Couch, Brandon Hyder, Matthew Hyder, Josh Toney, Elise Toney, Eli Toney, Nathan Beason, Gabrielle Toney, and Roslyn Toney, great-grandchildren, Lorrin Adcock, Josie Couch, Cameryn Haro, Londyn Hyder, Bailey Hyder, Jaden Toney, Braley Henson, Zane Toney, Dallas Shelton, Hayden Reep, Ansley Robbins, Adalyn Robbins, and Ryaln Robbins, great-great-grandchildren, Remington Rollins and Brayden Parnell.
The funeral service will be held at two o'clock Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Reverend Steven Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
