Donna Carver Obituary

Donna Mae Carver, 72, of Old Stonecutter Road, Rutherfordton, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at Mission Hospital, Asheville.  Born in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Brink and Mary Dotts Brink.  Donna worked as a fuel analyst for the federal government and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton where she was active in the Soul Food Ministry.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Matron of Steadfast Chapter #479, Camp Hill, PA.  She was affectionately known to her grandsons as “A B”.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Phillip Dewey Carver of the home; a son, Phillip D. Carver (Christine) of Sylva, NC; a daughter, Jennifer R. Carver of Spindale, NC; a brother, Robert Brink of Enola, PA and two grandsons, Nick and Alex Carver-Robbins.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton with Rev. Sydnor Thompson III and Rev. Jack Knoespel officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First UMC, 264 Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.  The Padgett & King Mortuary and Crematory is serving the Carver family.  The family will be at the home, Old Stonecutter Road, Rutherfordton and they respectfully ask that no online condolences be submitted to the mortuary website.
