David Clark Greene, age 57 of Ellenboro passed away July 13, 2019 at his home following a battle with lung cancer.
David was born November 2, 1961 in Rutherford County.
David was a graduate of East Rutherford High School in Forest City and Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, Florida. He was a lifelong auto mechanic and until his illness he was employed by Anderson Auto Center in South Carolina.
David was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro where he had taught Children's Sunday school, R.A.s and sang in the Children's Choirs, Youth Choir and joined the Adult Choir as a teenager where he had sung tenor for forty years. He also loved to play softball and played on the church team and many industrial teams over the years.
Survivors include his parents, Earl Greene, Sr and Dorothy Wilson Greene of Ellenboro, a brother, Thomas Earl Greene, Jr. and wife Melisa of Ellenboro, a nephew, Taylor Lee Greene and wife Alison of Ellenboro.
The Celebration of Life Service for David will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center. The burial will be held privately for the family in the church cemetery.
