Bobby Allen Libera

Bobby Allen Libera, 72, of Big Island  Road, Forest City, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills Hospice House, Forest City.  Bobby was born October 31, 1945 in Avery county, NC, and was a son of the late Peter W. and Elizabeth Vance Libera.  He retired from food service management with the NC Department of Public Safety, was a member and deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church and also a member of the NC Baptist Men Disaster Relief mass feeding team.  Bobby was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for public service, a U S Army veteran and an avid bear hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Johnson Libera ; a son, David Libera and wife Heather; grandchildren, Robert Maxwell Libera, Erik James Libera, Glenn Wayne Earley, and Julia Elizabeth Earley, all of Forest City, NC; a brother, Bill Libera and wife Regina of Murrells Inlet, SC and a sister, Connie Libera Body of Gadsden, AL.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, October 29, 2018 in the  Shiloh Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Willis and Reverend Mike Sepaugh officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday evening at The Padgett & King Mortuary.  A graveside service will be held 4 pm Monday in the Walker Family Cemetery, Boomer, NC.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 1850 Poors Ford Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
