Betty Jean Godfrey, age 86 of died Monday  October 28, 2019 at Hospice House of Forest City.  She was a native of  Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Jerry Martin and Cora Lee McKinnis.  Betty loved her family and enjoyed every minute she spent with them, especially with her great-granddaughter Madison.  She also enjoyed going to the singings at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church in her spare time.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Kermit Woodrow Godfrey; sons, Kenneth Ray Godfrey, Terry Lee Godfrey; daughters, Kathy Jean Turner, and Sandra Elaine Godfrey; brothers, James Martin, Bill Martin, Johnny Martin, and Lonnie Martin; sons-in-law, Ricky Pat Robbins and Billy Eugene Turner

Survivors include her daughter, Dorlene G. Robbins, two sisters, Doris Lee Adams and Evelyn McCurry, grandchildren, Regan Paige Toney and husband Sean, Ricky Pat Robbins Jr. and Kelly Sisk, great-grandchildren Blakely Ruppe, Phillip Dobbins and Madison Nicole Robbins.

The Memorial Service will be held at three o’clock Thursday October 31, 2019 AT THE PADGETT AND KING CHAPEL with Reverend Chad Sisk officiating.  Interment will be private for the family at Cool Springs Cemetery.   The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements and an online guest registry is available at www.padgettking.com
