"Bill" Doggett Date: January 15th, 1920 - September 11th, 2009 Obituary: Thomas C. “Bill “ Doggett, Sr. age 89 of 723 Bethany Church Road, Forest City , NC died Friday September 11, 2009 at Hospice House of Forest City. He was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of the late John Simpson Doggett and Ida Carroll Doggett; a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and served on various committees. He was employed by the Paul Doggett Oil Company of Forest City for 35 years and retired from Robbins Oil Company and was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Edith Roberts Doggett who died in 1997. He and his wife founded the Edgewood Rest Home in Forest City which they operated from 1964 until 1971. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Bill has been a resident of Autumn Care for the past four years. Survivors include his son, Tommy Doggett and wife Glorious of Forest City, two grandchildren, Chris Doggett and Brian English, three great grandchildren, Molly Doggett, Alex Doggett, and Briana English. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock P.M. Sunday September 13, 2009 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Reverend Marvin Green officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 until 3pm prior to the service at the church.
