Name: Pearl Barnett Hinson Date: August 11th, 1923 - July 29th, 2009 Obituary: Pearl Barnett Hinson, age 85 of Old Sunshine Road, Bostic, NC went to be with her Lord on July 29, 2009. Pearl was born in Chesnee, South Carolina on August 11, 1923 the youngest of ten children born to the late Brownlow Hughes Barnett and Rittie Melissa Barnett and was also preceded in death by all of her loving brothers and sisters. Pearl was a homemaker and mother first and foremost but she did work during World War II at the pottery in Erwin, TN. In later years, she was a foster mother for the City of Alexandria, Virginia and cared for 35 foster babies and young children, and lastly worked for Woodmont Nursing Home in Fredericksburg, Virgina. Pearl and her husband John moved back to their beloved Bostic, NC in 1990 to be within 2 miles of their first home as husband and wife. Survivors include her loyal and loving husband of 64 years, John Roy Hinson, Sr. of the home, a daughter, Jo Ann Hinson and her husband Tony, sons, John Roy Hinson, Jr. and wife Cindy, and Paul Anthony Hinson. There are 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 precious great -great granddaughters as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she considered “her “children. Funeral services will be held at Eleven o’clock Monday August 3, 2009 at Glenwood Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Toney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from Six until Eight o’clock Sunday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
