Name: Robert E. Jones Date: October 10th, 1922 - July 27th, 2009 Obituary: Robert E. Jones, age 86 of Edgewood Drive, Forest City went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 27 , 2009 at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, North Carolina. He had suffered for months with an extended illness. Robert lived a long and fulfilled life in Christian service to those around him. He worked for the A&P Grocery in Forest City for 25 years, where he and his wife Caroline of 52 years met. He also worked at both Harris Teeter and Community Cash Grocery Stores. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forest City for more than 60 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School director and various committees. He was also a member of the Forest City Lions Club where he served for many years at Tailtwister of the Club as well as serving on every committee and the Board of Directors. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Caroline McDaniel Jones of the home, a daughter, Susan Jones of Morganton. Nieces and nephew are Keith Price and his wife Kim of Forest City, Kathy Sigmon and her husband of Spartanburg, Connie Blanton and her husband Don of Albuquerque New Mexico. Billie and her husband Dane of Ellenboro, Amy and her Husband Cameron, of Nebo. Brother and sister in-laws are Samuel (Sammy) and Bobbie Jean McDaniel, Robert (Bobby) McDaniel, Mary Lewis, and Joe McDaniel and his wife Betty all of Ellenboro. There are also many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Two o’clock Thursday July 30, 2009 in the First Baptist Church of Forest City with the Reverend Dr. Barry K. Keys and Reverend David Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from One until Two o’clock prior to the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
