Champion Date: May 4th, 1928 - July 22nd, 2009 Obituary: Ina Mae Champion, age 81 of Shiloh Road, Forest City, North Carolina died Wednesday July 22, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, NC. She a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Guren Carl Price and Lula Fowler Price; retired from Stonecutter Mills Corporation with 33 years service and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Champion. Survivors include three sons, Steve Champion, Carl Champion and his wife Darlene all of Forest City, John Champion and his wife Vivian of Bostic, a daughter, Judy Edwards and her husband Mike of Forest City, a sister, Brenda Boone and her husband Tim of Ellenboro. There are also five grandchildren, Jeff Champion, Maria Hudson, Steve Champion, Jr. , Mark Champion and Sharon Marshall, seven great-grandchildren, Jessie Ormand, Haylee Champion, Ashlie Hudson, Jay Mills, Raven Champion, Jelica Champion and Kaitlyn Champion. Funeral services will be held at Two o’clock pm Saturday July 25, 2009 at New Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Frankie Stanley, Reverend Terry Roach, and Reverend Stephen Matheny officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from Six until Eight Friday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
