Name: Lillie Mae Gotschall Date: August 16th, 1925 - July 12th, 2009 Obituary: Lillie Mae Gotschall, age 88 died Sunday July 12, 2009 at White Oak Manor in Rutherfordton, North Carolina where she was a resident. She was a native of Florence County, South Carolina and a daughter of the late Boyd DuRant Cantey, Sr. and Vera Driggers Canty; wife of the late Richard Nelson Gotschall and also preceded in death by her brothers, Theron Cantey and Boyd DuRant Cantey, Jr. A member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church, Rutherfordton, NC she also worked as a welder in the Savannah ShipYard during World War II, and she enjoyed her family, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and baking. She was a former resident of Lake City, SC where she was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church until 1990 and was retired from James Vernon Epps Insurance Agency. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Latham and her husband John of Union Mills, NC, brother, Gordon Cantey and wife Barbara of Coats, NC, sisters, Henriette Gardner of San Antonio, TX, Toni Stack and husband Cecil of Lake City, SC, Joyce Toner and husband Charles , Maxine Lesesne and husband Elias all of Gulf Breeze, FL, grandchildren, Hillary Grace Latham of Madison, WI, Hallie Lillyn Graves and husband Robert of Lafayette, LA, Mariana Kay Rouse and husband Bradley of Taylors, SC, two great grandchildren,Thomas Michael Graves and Madelyn Catherine Graves both of Lafayette, LA. Funeral services will be held at Eleven o’clock Wednesday July 15, 2009 at the Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Jesse Mills, Reverend James Daves and Reverend Matthew Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10-11am prior to the service. A second service will be held at Eleven o’clock Thursday July 16, 2009 at the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City , South Carolina with Reverend Jason Miles officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 -11Am Thursday prior to the service. Interment will be in Lake City Memorial Park.
