Obituary:
Betty Jo Kirby, age 75, of Poors Ford Rd, Rutherfordton, died, Friday, May 15, 2009, at her residence. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Jack Knight and Martha Brackett Knight; owner of B & L Clothes Basket, and member of the Spencer Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Kirby, of the home, two sons, Phillip Anthony Kirby of Forest City, Jonnathan Matthew Kirby and his wife Debra of Lyman, SC, and a sister, Evelyn Waganer of Blountville, TN. There is one step grandson, Stephen Nichols. Funeral services will be held at Two o'clock Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Spencer Baptist Church, Spindale, NC, with the Rev. Billy E. Vaughn and Rev. Don Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 until 2pm, prior to the service, in the Family Life Center of the church.
