Obituary:
Frances Smith Keller, age 96, a resident of McCall Drive, Forest City, North Carolina died Saturday May 9, 2009 at Fairhaven Home. She was born September 16, 1912 in Ruby, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Reverend A.B. Smith and Jessie Flake Smith; a member of First Presbyterian Church of Forest City where she was an Elder of the Church, formerly served on the Beautification Committee for the Town of Forest City; member of Delta Kappa Gama Teachers Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution and was a Colonial Dame. Mrs. Keller was a retired educator having taught school in Wilmington, NC, Florida and Valdese, NC and retired from the Rutherford County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Selby Alexander Keller in 1972. Survivors include her daughter, Alyne Keller Alexander and her husband Lin of Charlotte, a grandson, Clay Alexander and his wife Diane and great-granddaughter, Katie Alexander all of Lake Wylie, South Carolina. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Eleven o’clock Tuesday morning May 12, 2009 from the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend James Shroyer officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the Ladies Parlor of the church. Interment will be private for the family in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
