Charles “Chuck” Howard Bradley, age 51, of Kent Drive, Forest City, died Tuesday, May 05, 2009, at the Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Rutherford County he was a son of Betty Taylor Edwards of Forest City and the late Howard Spencer Bradley; he attended RS Central High School and graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in Roanoke Rapids, NC, was a veteran having served in the United States Navy, a deli associate of Wal-Mart, and an avid dog lover and golfer with a number of holes in one. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Luke and Nell Taylor of Rutherfordton and Lewis and Bertha Bradley of Spindale.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, Steve Bradley of Dawsonville, GA, three sisters, Vickie Bradley Lucking of Greenville, SC, Nell Bradley Dodson of Greer, SC, and Elizabeth Edwards Elliott of Fort Bragg, NC. There are a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the First Wesleyan Church of Forest City with the Reverend Curtis Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 pm Friday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Wesleyan Church of Forest City, 700 S. Church Street, Forest City, NC 28043. The family will be at the home of his mother 108 Kent Dr., Forest City. An online guest registry is available at www.padgettking.com.
