Name: Juanita Mae Brown Date: October 28th, 1924 - March 29th, 2009 Obituary: Juanita Mae Brown, age 84 of 191 Hester Mill Road, Rutherfordton, NC died Sunday March 29, 2009 at her residence following a long illness. She was a native of Rowan County, KY and a daughter of the late Cecil and Sula Sturgill Cline; a retired nurse having worked with the Pike County, Ohio Public Health Department. She was also a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, a former Nursery worker, a member of Rutherford County Senior Citizens and worked with Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Thompson and her second husband, Thomas T. Brown and a son, Medka Thompson. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Cokely of Rutherfordton, Katherine Gayheart of Nashville, TN, a step daughter, Denise Brown Higgins of Cleveland, OH. There are also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Four o’clock Wednesday April 1, 2009 from the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Alice Day officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 until 4pm prior to the service.
