Name: Ruth Roberts Schmitt Date: February 6th, 1917 - March 26th, 2009 Obituary: Ruth Roberts Schmitt, age 92 of 3600 Park Road, Charlotte, NC died Thursday March 26, 2009 at Presbyterian Orthopedic Hospital. She was a native of Rutherford County, NC and daughter of the late Charlie C. and Eva Morris Roberts. Mrs. Schmitt was a retired School Teacher having taught for 37 years in various schools, including Charlotte-Mecklenburg and was a longtime member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William G. Schmitt, a sister, Delene Roberts Robertson, and her step-mother, Pollie Roberts. She is survived by a brother, Charlie C. Roberts, Jr. and wife Bobbie of Greenville, TN, sisters, Dee Roberts McDonald and husband Myles of Hermitage, TN, Gladys Roberts Morgan of Lake Wylie,SC, and Modene Roberts Vess of Forest City. There are also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock pm Monday March 30, 2009 from The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Bobby Morrow officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will held from 12 noon until the hour of service at The Padgett and King Mortuary, 227 East Main Street, Forest City, NC.
